✅ SOLVED Civil war metal mystery

Found on a known Union Army winter camp in Fredericksburg. Not quite sure what metal it is. About a foot deep and found everything in the last picture in the same hole. Lots of small buckles around it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Barrel / keg ... band / strap IMO.

But could be any other type of strapping with rivets.
