✅ SOLVED Civil War Relic ??

Found this today on the farm not to far from a Starr Carbine bullet that I found on a previous dig.
Could it be a rivet or something similar. I know union soldiers passed by house and stayed long enough to grab corn, bacon,beans and a horse and cart.

I Agree that it is horse tac related.

Your find appears to be a leather flap or strap finial... used on many kinds of civilian and military equipment. (And especially on horse-tack.) Sorry to have to say, there's no way to time-date yours with any certainty, despite some civil war military stuff being found on that farm, amidst many decades (or more) of civilian stuff.

You identified the Starr carbine bullet I found on same property back in May
