Civil War tent remainss? (13 grommets & iron hoop)

I have found a Civil war J hook on this lot before, but in a 2ft x 2ft area I found 13 grommets & a oval iron hoop. Are these tent eyelets/grommets?
Not sure about the iron hoop though...



Note: They all have the Number 5 marked on them (I tried to get a picture of it)

Tent or poncho is all I've ever heard.

I hunted a farm where they use to use huge surplus canvas tarps to cover their silage that had brass grommets just like those. I must have dug two dozen of them.
