Class ring I'd?

I was suggested I put this class ring I found here, you folks may be able to help me figure out what school it came from?

The shield on the face has a Genie bottle on the top, 1946 is the date, the initials are R G S. I am not sure if the initials are the school or the owner. I am guessing the owner. My thoghts are the Genie bottle represents the school? It was found in Franklin county Mass. The town I live in has no High school.

Even where to look for the info to identify would be appreciated. Any questions ask away.

Thanks for the help!

COUNTRY GIRL,

"My thoghts are the Genie bottle represents
the school"

Not sure what the Genie, or Jinn, or Jan bottle represents.
Do not think it represents a certain school. Think it
is on many school rings. May have something to do
with education, or may represent the future once you
have an education.

have a good un..........

The oil lamp often represents knowledge. Knowledge removes ignorance just as light removes darkness. It's a pretty common symbol on school rings.

I think my high school ring has one on the side (and YES, I graduated high school AFTER the advent of electricity). :P

You might try contacting the present contractor for the local high schools who supplies the class rings, and inquire about your ring; and what company, in 1946 was producing class rings for schools in that area.
Best,
Don.....
PS: Anywhere near Route 7?

Countrygirl,
That ring is definitely from a nursing school and the letters represent the name of the school. How do I know? Because I'm a nurse. ::) Hee Hee

Holy smokers, my house used to be a hospital of sorts. Neat. I'll look more in that direction. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the picture, that's the lamp alright. I can't wait to ask around. I ran into the guy that sold the house in 1964 and asked if he knew anyone with those initials and he didn't, but his sister graduated in that year and he was going to ask her. Maybe?
