Howdy folks, I found this class ring and was never able to locate which high school it came from. It's a class of 1989 West Bend High School women's ring. There is a mascot on the side of the ring that looks like a Native American with a feather in his hair. Just thought maybe someone would want to take a chance at finding the owner. The name on the inside simply says "R Johnson Val"

Thanks buddy, I tried hard to find the owner but there is a bunch of South Bend High Schools...I'd love to return it.

Try through "Classmates .com". Go to schools and then person with initials on ring.

:-)

I'll try that.

What do the sides of the ring say? I will personally research this if you send me a PM about any other details.

I found West Bend HS (There are two...East and West) in Wisconsin. I have contacted a person at each school about this potentially being lost by a student there. It probably isn't this school though. This mascot for this school is a Knight wearing a helmet with a Plume. Could this Indian on the ring actually be a Knight wearing a helmet with a feather?

but the problem is that it is a women's ring. this means that her last name has most likely changed. but a "valerie johnson" from "west bend high school" seems like a slim chance to me :-\

Do you think VAL could mean Valedictorian?

The outer side of the ring says "Pride of 89"...and not because it looks exactly the same as my high school mascot which was a brave.

Exactly why I couldn't find the owner, this ring is Class of 89.

They should have the yearbooks, maybe you'll get lucky! You must have been surprised!

It seems kinda strange, but when I checked Epodunk for West Bend, it only came up with 3. The first in Wisconsin, #2 in Iowa and #3 in North Carolina. The NC entry doesn't have any high schools listed to it and none of that name appear in Forsyth County where it's located. The Iowa entry comes up as the West Bend-Mallard High School and the mascot appears to be a Wolverine. So it seems your best bet is gonna be the 2 in West Bend, Wisconsin.

I am Farscapes brother, I have emails out to the person running the Class of 89 facebook page as well as a woman who has a partial matching name I found through facebook who lives near West Bend.

The schools in West Bend have a Spartan as a mascot and the other one is the Suns. I was thinking they changed the mascot as it was Native American and some people are offended by that.

Never thought tracking down a rings owner would be so tough. Oh well. It is fun.

Just talked to a man from West Bend Class of 89. He says they had a Randall Johnson in their school but didnt mention if he was valedictorian. He also said the mascots have always been the suns and the spartans.
