I had the Mr Bill mod done about a year ago, I have not used my detector for quite some time and I notice while setting the threshold the hum is more of a picket fence chatter, I don't usually hunt in all metal mode, is this normal?

Turned out to be the batteries

Good tip I'll have to remember to check the batteries if this happens, on my IDX.
