Cleaned up IH... Can't believe it.

I found an 1888 indian the other day and it looked pretty trashed... See first pic below (it is the upper right, you can see the date):

I read up on a couple of ways to clean it and tried several to no avail. Then I tried the Hydrogen Peroxide method I read about in another post. Check out the results!!!

The hp works great in lots of situations. The one I just posted was very ugly but solid and I hit that one. Very nice. The indian heads seem to hold up much better that most of the LCs

Very nice, but how about telling us about the rest of the silver too?

Congratulations on the coin finds! The Indian Head cleaned up very nicely.

Explain the hydrogen peroxide method ? Please

Will that method work on my toasted LC's? I'm with pointman, what about those silvers? Great finds!

Wow! Amazing how well that worked.

I posted the silvers a couple days ago... here's a better pic of them and a little info. I found an old map and looked for some clusters of houses. Found one that was on public land and showed barely any signs that anyone had ever been there. Went out with a buddy and found these guys.

Pretty good day if I do say so myself :) Had a blast. Not bad for Montana finds :)

As for the method. You take barely enough HP to cover the coin in a glass or plastic container, microwave it until it's visibly boiling and drop in your coin. Leave it until it cools and repeat. It works amazingly well on indians... Hope if helps ya :)

Thank you for sharing your hunt and those pictures with us
