Cleaning and or polishing dug brass

I’m certain that this has been covered but I’m wondering if someone could direct me to a method that might work on this piece. I’m almost certain it’s made of brass but not sure how to confirm that. This piece is of the Pope Leone XIII from 1878-1903. Pics of mine and a close example found on the web

I don't really know anybody who polishes what they find. Your piece appears to have the surface eaten into by acidic soil or maybe fertilizer and sadly there will be no way to make it look like the web example. One could make it shine with a buffing wheel but one would also lose more detail than has already been lost to time in the ground.

Any Ammo vibrator/polisher and brass is like new.

Vibrating/tumbling works fine for cartridge shells but would further damage any detail of the pendant.
