Cleaning brown,discolored clad without a tumbler

I just cleaned a brown clad quarter in a few minutes......First wash with dish soap and water and dry......take a pencil eraser and start rubbing.....in a few minutes the coin will be presentable for spending......see attached photos

Nice effort, but the "Before" picture would have been presentable for spending. Come on down to Florida, and you'll find clad in circulation with sand still concreted on the coin.

Thats a whole lot of rubbing, sounds like a recipe for carpal tunnel.

I must be lazy, but I cant see myself scrubbing a clad coin, then using an eraser on it! I dont have a tumbler yet, so lots of jars of coins are waiting. Not sure how long your "few" minutes are, but at two minutes per coin, if I did it your way, I would have about 500 hrs worth of work!
