Cleaning burned 40% Kennedys question

Greetings, All...

I obtained a roll of 40% Kennedy halves (at face) which have been in a fire and are seriously discolored. Anyone know if the baking soda/tinfoil/boiling water trick will work on them. They look BAD.

I have use the baking soda/foil/boiling water method on apeace dollar I dug, worked great. I keep all my finds though.

I'm having good luck with 90% silver coins using the method, just wondering if anyone had tried it with the 40% halves. That cartwheel cleaned up pretty good, but even more baths would probably get the remaining tarnish off. I had a standing liberty quarter that was tarnished black... several baths and it's now silver.
