I drove a half hour to an 1804 house/log cabin door-knock (actually guy-tilling-his-garden) permission I acquired a few weeks ago. No one home...so I pulled off, put'er in P, and trolled around here for awhile, apparently fell asleep bcoz the rain coming in sideways thru my window sure woke me up. Double Drats! Still no one home and now it's pouring. O well...I live to hunt yet another day, lol. I was going to stop at their local park as the rain let up, but omg...the 100% humidity steam bath tempted me to the nearest Dollar General for some cold water. I don't mind at all detecting in the rain, but lightning? Nah. Glad to see you got in some quality detecting, Whadi...the fun's in the hunt but finds like that are bonuses! Thx for sharing, Ddf.

AHA! just figured our what the item is with the three notches...it's a token for the golf ball dispenser at the driving range...I actually have a couple somewhere I never used. It was always a hoot to set and watch folks shove their token in, and forget to hang the basket and watch all those range balls bounce all over the place! Ddf.

Hmm, learned something, thanks! Last time I took my baseball swing to a driving range(no....I don't play, just fun to hit), I just paid for a bucket of balls at the counter.
