The tide was at -0.5 which is decent so I was able to get out there and dig up some more relics. It had rained pretty hard the night before so I hit the lot next to the coast line before the low tide. My first good target on the coast was an SLQ! My first one but no date and its pretty beat up. The button i think is a Tombac....let me know if it is. Also popped out maybe an overall button with some stars around it. Guessing late 19th early 20th century on that one. The melted piece of brass had me going thinking it might have been melted gold or something but pretty sure its brass. A partial skeleton key was a cool find. Really cool patina on it. The black round piece of pewter (maybe lead) looks to have some writing on it but i can't make it out so not sure on that one. The bent piece of lead is odd and i have no idea what it is. The bullet at first looked like it was modern in the copper jacket but now i think it might just have a dark patina on it. It is .50 cal and this site has produced other CW bullets that VMI dug. Some more whatitz maybe a turn of the century belt buckle pretty crusty. Lots of the usual fishing tackle and lead sinkers. The big piece of brass/copper tube looking thing is also a mystery to me. This post is kinda all over the place but I'm heading back to Illinois tomorrow so i wanted to get everything posted before i left. I hope to get out back home so maybe i'll have some posts while I'm home for yah. Thanks for looking.

Good looking toes. The last few days have been a struggle with the amount of poison sumac/oak on my arms

Nothing a trip back home can't cure

Great finds!!! Gotta hunt together again on a 100 degree day in the brush!! :)
