Found a number of Coca-Cola jugs in an old chicken shed, not too exciting but they have found a new life. However, I do have a question on marks. I believe the gallon-sized one was made by Owens Illinois in their Alton IL plant with mold number 13. Though, I do not know if I am reading the date correctly. My current understanding is that it was made in 1937 and then re-engraved with the new "O-I" in the 50's. I, however, would definitely benefit from a second opinion as I have my doubts about it.

The bottom: "7 'OI' 7" with "13" beneath it
The neck of the bottle: "DES.PAT. 184991"
The base: "E-2370" (not sure about this one, hard to read)

I assume Coca Cola is embossed somewhere? I don't see it.

The bottles were found with Coca-Cola lids and the ring seal to the lids still on the bottle. Pictures will be added to original post

They were label only. I've got a couple with the original labels somewhere. They held fountain syrup.

Design Patent 184991 was granted to Floyd D. Flexon, for Owens-Illinois Glass Company on 28th April 1959, so the jug won’t be before that date.

1937 seems pretty early for syrup jugs but what do I know.

My Aunt Had the Stand Built in the 60's so that fits with the Pat Date.
but soda fountains have been around for years before in pharmacies and 5&10's so
there could be older Ones also unless they shipped it in Cans Like Milk Cans Before that one was Patented
