Coil Coming Apart

I have a coil where the top and bottom join, is starting to split and I am looking for some type of sealant to apply.

I will assume this is not a coil cover coming off?
If the coil is split, I would clean it with denatured alcohol scuff up the surface of the plastic and coat it with 2 part plastic epoxy. You can get it at any hardware store or home center.
