I'm trying to decide on which coil to get with the Compadre since you can't interchange them.
5.75" is best for trashy areas and the 8"gives quicker/better coverage.
This may be the last detector I buy so suggestions will be appreciated as to which coil too get.
I will be hunting woods around CIV battle sights, old home places, fields and parks. Also Florida beaches.
I also have a Fisher 1265X that I will maybe sell but I will keep my GBII.
I will be looking for Relics, Jewelry, and coins.
Thanks

For the list of places you are planning on hunting you will need at minimum a detector with adjustable ground balance and and sensitivity. The Vaquero or Tejon may be a better choice except for wet salt hunting. There the Sand Shark (pulse induction) would be a better choice, but the Vaq will work fine in dry sand.
Then there is always the ATPro which is about the best bang for the buck to get a water resistant machine to do a variety of hunting like you mentioned.

I agree with Fletch88 on the ground balance issue. However, as to your original question, I'd go for the 8" coil if you stick with the Compadre.

I think I would get the 8" of I was buying a Compadre. Or you could step up to the Silver microMax and change coil sizes.
