ok heres the deal when I got my Tesoro Eldorado from a prospecting shop less than a month ago the salesman put a brand new coil cover on it ,but in doing so he cracked it an it has never fit all the way around properly which in turn everytime you go out it gets dirt ,sand, etc between the coil an cover..........now I have talked to a few an heard this is a common thing so how do I fix it ,do I keep buying covers or is there a good way to seal the coil ,I've heard about a few using rhino lining or such ,but does this interupt the coil pick up at all ,or does anyone have any ideas I figure a few bucks to cover my coil is alot better than buying a new coil long before I need to.

I had the same problem with my Tejon when I took the cover off to get the dirt out and clean it I cracked the cover. I sent an "E" mail to Tesoro and posted on this site and the conclusion was to submerge the coil cover (and coil) depending on if your going on or coming off in warm water. the cover heats up faster then the coil (cause its less dense) and pops right off. cool thanks for passin that along :icon_thumright:

The submerging in warm water trick sounds like a good one. It probably also softens the plastic and makes it more flexible and less likely to crack.

Another tip is to make sure you do not just try to pull the cover off from just one spot. Pull it a little on one spot and work your way around the coil loosening it most of the way around before pulling it off completely. This causes less bending and make it less likely that the cover will crack.
