The platypus is perfect for me, and I have replaced it with the stock Minelab pro coil and I have not looked back. The Joey coil is by far most superior to the competitors small trash coils...all of which I have used extensively. The Joey gets good depth, made of the highest quality parts, and is superb in separating targets from trash.
