Coin Conversion curiosity

Found this in the Coinversion machine at Publix. I'm sure this has no value, but wondered if anyone might recognize what it is, Little studs on the back could have been position holders or maybe rivets,

Publix uses a couple of variations of the Coin Conversion machines.
