Coin in very bad shape

While searching today with my AT Pro I was on an island in the Saint Johns River (under the Matthews Bridge ) and I dug this coin.. I was walking in the water about 3 inches deep and it took 2 scoops Im guessing it was 6 inches down in the sand.. Anyhow... The only thing I can read on the edge of the coin is " George " ... any ideas ? (I placed a quarter next to it for size comparisons )..
