Detector(s) used
Minelab Etrac
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I took the Minelab Go Find 40 to the Oronoco park to see what it could do.
I got the 1963 Canadian cent and a few clad coins with it and went back to the E-Trac .I headed to the woods
and got a 1936-D Lincoln cent . A few feet away in the same hole I got a 1918-D Mercury Dime and a 1913 Lincoln cent .
The Dot Gripper snap was in the same hole. I think the Dot snap is from the 1940's. Not sure.

Nice finds...
So...
I am curious...
How do you like the detector ?
Do tell the experience... hows the depth and tones etc?

great finds!, its frustrating trying a new detector when your comfortable with your usual, I had a hell of a time adjusting to the etrac, now I love it!

I too was curious about that Go Find, very neat!!

Nice finds ....... now spill it how was the go find

Yes, I was contemplating these detectors for my nephews, I'm also interested to hear about the experience and how it compares to a "real" detector.

That Canada one cent is nice, it has the young queen effigy on it (1953-64).

I knew the GO-Find wouldn't be as good as the E-Trac. Before I went detecting I took it outside and put a quarter on the ground and it was picking it up at 8 inches. The 1963 Canadian was 4 inches deep.
I only hear one tone on all targets.
I would not want to detect with it much at a trashy park but I could see tot lots, valley ball courts and maybe plowed fields were there is less trash. Forgot the sandy beach.
I am spoiled with the E-Trac .
When I first started detecting I had a Whites detector that would find dimes at 3 to 4 inches and I was happy at the time so anyone without much experience might like it.

Hows the overall "quality" of it ?

Does it feel "cheapy made" ?

I'm no expert but I think it will hold up for sometime. Now if they could put the E-Trac inside this I would buy it also.

Congratulations on the silver and copper!
