Hi all.
I know the DFX is 3 and 15 khz. The m6 is 6 khz. Anybody know what the old whites coinmaster frequency is? Im thinking like 1.75khz. I remember someone saying that at one time. I believe I read that 3khz is better for coins, 15khz is better for gold jewlry and 6khz is an all around "good for everything" frequency. But dont read this as gospel, lets wait to hear from some professionals on this topic.

DFX is 2.98 and 14.91 kHz, with in theory the lower frequency canceling ground mineralisation better and providing more depth on silver and copper coins. The higher frequency is better on small gold and low conductivity coins. Then it all goes wrong as a thin silver coin is picked up better at 14.91.

The Coinmaster V Supreme runs at 1.79 kHz and another oddity was the Goldmasters at 50 kHz.
I'm pretty certain that the 3900 D didn't run at 1.75, I would have thought it was 5 or 6.

I think Whites made the wrong choice by going for 2.98 instead of the 6.59 of the XLT and other models. Large targets respond better but a larger target responds better anyhow due to its mass.
Your right the frequencies around 6 kHz are a good choice for a balance between depth and discrimination but I seem to remember a post by Jack Gifford of Tesoro several years back saying it really doesn't make that much difference in the mid ranges, only at the extremes.
