Got back late today so just hit the woods.Pic is proubly a old coal mining one i am guessing.I am also guessing wings are for a kid at or after WW2.And one wheat penny.Got most of them when i hammered area with last detector i guess.

just noticed typo,ment coal

I would say you are dead on on both items. The center of the wings has the Army Air Corps emblem from WW2,and the pick looks like it was made for close quarter work,such as in a mine.

Good finds.
 
Your pick appears to have been "worn",down to its present size,from repeated sharpening.Often called a "drifting", pick which was used it tight quarters
