Colonial Checker Piece? No idea...

Dug this the other day near a colonial foundation where i've found several other period relics.

no idea what it is. sort of looks like a large checker game piece. the one side is concave and the other is convex. Very crusty. This photo is after 6 hours of electrolysis. its also very heavy. 4.6 oz to be exact.

i want to get some idea of what it is before i spend any more time on electrolysis.

That would be some heavy duty checkers. No idea but interesting find!
