Colonial doo dad

I found both of these pieces close together at a colonial site; they are made of lead and I don't have the foggiest idea what they were used for. Any ideas? Corona bottle cap thrown in for a size reference.

Those might be called "sprues" not quite sure


I found some left-over lead that they used for the mold. It cooled in the small cast iron kettle, so it has a domed shape on bottom. Found last Saturday at an early site.

I had hoped to find the mold, but there is a lot of iron. I try to dig most iron targets that sound bigger than nails
