Colonial find?

Dug this yesterday and wondering if anyone on here knows exactly what it is and a possible right date? It is very heavy for its size and I think the back is lead filled.

Yes it is horse furniture/horse harness mount (or the US term Rosette), with this lead filled construction & the possible missing plating the date range is pretty wide. 18th-19th C. Looking at it I would lean the 18th C way, but someone might pin it down better.

Thanks the info,the site it came from has a deep history with horses and goes back quite a bit... makes sense too I found a flat button at this same site which someone on here dated 1750's-1770's

It all helps the picture. So 18th C is looking most likely.
