Went out and took advantage of the nice weather on sunday with my mom, a friend, and my GF to a site i've been researching for quite some time. On our first try the week before we struck out and dug all trash IE shotgun shells. This sunday we decided to give another spot a try and immediately started digging buttons. Well I guess we were in the right spot! Only had a few hours to detect before dark so tried to cover as much ground as possible. We wasted half the day in the wrong spot but you dont know til you try right? So in total I believe there were 8 buttons (4 not shown moms gotem) I also found some sort of ornate flower piece and a brooch/hair holder thingy also ornate. Im dying to go back there soon to hit up the same spot and go reall slowww, but theres still about 300 more acres of possibilities also
. Don't recall finding much trash there either mostly artifacts. I also know for a fact that some real nice coins have come out of the area also. Here's our meager findings, also can anyone date the buttons. I know the gilted one has writing but i cannot make it out. The two are nickle in color, other 2 are copper/brass. Im thinking colonial but im no expert. Thanks ~Jim
