Beavertail, let me ask you a question. I got a Garrett Ace 300 earlier this week. The thing seems to beep all the time! Inconsistently. Called KellyCo and told them I live in a predominantly red clay area. They suggested I send back the 300 and get a detector with manual ground balancing capabilities. The Garrett 300 is fixed. They suggested the Fisher F-44. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Do you have this problem in your area?

My wife uses at Garrett Ace 250 and no no problems just turn the sensitivity down a little bit as far as me I use minelabs CTX 3030 and it works good everywhere. I think you would be in pretty good shape if you just lower your sensitivity

Thanks. I went yesterday and did just that. Seems to work ALOT better when sensitivity is down. Still get a few false hits though. I read ALOT of great things on the 250.
