Confederate or Union Knapsack hooks?

Does anyone know if these are Union or Confederate knapsack hooks? Not sure if the one on the left is a knapsack hook or not . It is rusty iron but looks to be a hook of some sort. The other one is made of brass. Thanks for any help .

I don't know what the one on the left is, but the one on the right comes off union equipment. Never dug one of those in a confederate camp, but that doesn't mean they didn't have them.
