Confederate Pewter Whistle

I recently found a field that was cultivated near Vicksburg and found several civil war era relics. One of the more interesting items was this broken pewter whistle. Very unusual. You just don't find many civil war whistles in camps. I began doing a little research and discovered that whistles were popular with cavalry and used in training. Heck, lots of good uses for a whistle. Unfortunately, it is broken...but I've also included a photo of a complete whistle I found on the internet to show what the completed piece would have looked like. Thanks for looking.
