Pretty sure its a copper cent that was placed on railroad tracks and run over by a train....may not seem like much but was exciting finding something different and it took me back to my childhood when my Dad and I would go to a local park near tracks and put pennies on them and wait for the train to come and pass....ahhh...this hobby just keeps getting better and better.

Looks a bit big to be a penny-- Judging by your picture I think the original coin was as big as a quarter before being squished. Might be one of those brass game tokens (like Chuck E Cheese)-- maybe?

I have to dig out my small coin scale to verify but it is copper and have had several pennies flattened on railroad tracks that were about identical to this size or bigger....this one is very thin just like the ones we used to flatten.
