Of course this peeked my curiosity to look inside the wall again and low and behold there is a book laying on top of the log as I take it out carefully and open to the flyleaf I see a date that’s not clear and open it further to see what looks like a German prayer book any further identification would be nice but to no avail I searched for more century old artifacts till I was satisfied nothing was left and went about my work day with a upbeat feeling !

Beautiful finds. Congratulations!

Neat finds in what looks like a very old hewed timber wall with lath that had plaster on it once. Fun place to work, I expect. I like old buildings like this.

As a sparky myself I often find treasures in walls of remodels........but they are typically beer cans and Pepsi bottles :laughing7: you did good

Once in a basement that had thick stone foundation walls I started looking in between the floor joist bays on top of the foundation and found a tin sign sarsaparilla best blood purifier and a druggist bottle 1900s style and a heartbreaker of an empty cigar box

One thing for sure....we are always lookin.

Hopefully the book was left there by mistake vs trying to get rid of it to banish something evil. Lol Halloween is near. Cool finds though.

Found some interesting things over the years and one that comes to mind is lion coffee cards that were early 1900s they looked like baseball cards at first but had a governor of one state and a very large lady with mrs fat under her picture. Some other bottles and one tin on top of a foundation that said sarsaparilla best blood purifier
