Found this in an old trash dump with mostly 40’s and 50’s stuff. What is it?

Diameter is 3 5/8” and height is 2 7/8”

It is the center hub of a wood spoke wheel.

I was going to say for a wagon but it' kinda small for that. Maybe spoked wheel for an old car?
