Cool old brass Gothic like hinge relic found today

Wish I found the contents to what this hinge held, but think it is pretty cool. First picture is uncleaned and the rest cleaned up a bit with some greenish patina. Any hinge experts out there to date it? Site where it was found is my backyard under some 200 year old oaks, along a river that had been a Native American habitation site dating back 2,000 years. More historically possible French explorers, traders, settlers.
