Coolgardie, CA ghost town

I'm not sure if i should post this here, or in the ghost town sub-forum.


I found out about this ghost town online, however I am unable to locate it on any maps, and I have not found any information on the towns history whatsoever. It is located north of barstow. The directions i found online are somewhat unclear and I was wondering if anyone else has looked into this town, if so, please share info! Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.

PS: And if you're looking for more color, you may want to visit Opal Mt., NW of Barstow due north from Hinkley.

There is still private land at Coolgardie camp that has come up at tax auctions.
and coolgardie diggings is mostly under claim.

A friend owns two lots at Coolgardie camp/townsite that had a slab on one till the BLM removed it not knowing it was on private land.

they have also stopped and told him that he can not camp there for over 14 days till he shows them the deed to the land and then they back down.
