Evening guys. I went through a box of nickles tonight and came across what appears to be a copper tinted 2006 nickle. At first I suspected the finish was messed up, especially since there is a small streak of the silvery finish on the obverse. I tried looking this up online but haven't found any definitive information about the coin's properties. I also considered the coin was painted as a way of marking it but the finish appears too professional aside from the small silvery streak I mentioned. I would post a pic but don't have the ability to at this time.

The only thing I can find suggesting anything like this is the commemorative set released that year to return the monticello design to the reverse of the coin. That leads me to believe this coin is from a commemorative set or a forgery of the commemorative coin. I'll post a pic tomorrow so you guys can see what it looks like.
