My buddy found this copper the other day. I can't match it up to any listed in my redbook; please help.

This picture he sent me looks CT but I can't find one with the 5 point star on the back.

I think it may be a Vermont copper 1788 maybe

It is a Connecticut copper for sure, I think the "star" is just a product of corrosion. Remember there are over 350 varieties of Connecticut coppers and the red book only pictures a few of them.
