Has anyone else found a half that looks like it's copper? This one is very tarnished but I doubt that it's copper, must be plated.

Copper plated? I see no copper plating. Just a tarnished clad half.
They do not have to be "copper-plated" in order to be tarnished. I have seen many blackened or otherwise dark clad halves. It's just the way they turn out over the years.
:)

Must be plated with copper, when I rub my thumb over the face it has the same red tint as a cent.

Doesn't look like any of the hundreds of tarnished coins I've seen searching halves

I have found some similar to that one, when I compared them to a coin I have dug up it they looked identical. My opinion is that it was in the dirt for a while before you got it.

I just Googled "copper plated half dollar" and I think it might be a coin from a magic shop. Here a pic of a new one.

I am not saying copper plated halves don't exist.. ;)

But I found two like the one pictured above in my boxes yesterday. Not copper plated, but blackened just like that one.

Just a freak version of tarnishing. I have seen so many of these, I do not give them a second look. ;D

LOOKS LIKE THIS HALF MAY HAVE BEEN LAYING ON THE GROUND OR IN THE GROUND IF SO THEY TURN BLACK OVER TIME I HAVE A 1972 THATS BLACKER THAN THE ACE OF SPADES.DAVE

I posted this one earlier this year.
