Coral?

So, I found this a few years ago off the shore in Puerto Rico...or possibly Tybee Georgia. One or the other.

I've always kinda assumed it was a piece of coral. But when I was googled coral it looked nothing like what I have, lol. Obviously, I'm pretty ignorant on the matter so decided to ask some people that were more educated on how to properly identify these things. Is this a piece of coral? or something else?
