hey - so I have an issue with the cord that connects my WOT coil (just a real big DD coil)to my detector (and the set up is - its all coiled - like an old school phone cord....and it goes inside the shaft) - Im certain its the cord and not the connections - in fact -by grabbing the cord....while trying to turn on the machine - I know right about where on the cord it is - Id attempt some sort of repair - but it has a 6-pin connector (or maybe 7....something like that) - so Im thinking there are going to be many little wires in there - and - a recipe for disaster - unfortunately unlike an older machine - where a bad/intermittent connection would just cause the coil to cut out - if there is a glich on my machine....it makes it shut off - (and just lately its become hard to turn on) - just looking for suggestions - normally I would just get another coil - but this particular coil is expensive ...and probably worth more than my machine at this point - should I try some run of the mill electronics repair place - or is there a coil specialist that needs to do it (?) - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
