Cortez Tid Numbers

Hi Dave,

Being from Canada, our coins are different than what the machine was designed to ID. One thing I do notice is that as I swing the coil over a target, the numbers will jump around a bit, but if 95 shows up a couple of times I dig. This has worked very well for Canadian nickels and dimes, from the 1920's to modern clad. I usually pay more attention to the spread of the "bar graph" as I call it, then the actual number. Of course a solid 95 always has me digging.

I notice you have an Xterra70. Can you comment on how that machine compares in the field to the Cortes?

Thanks,

Dan

With the Cortes and DeLeon you're looking for repeatable signal patterns on the meter.

These meters can be good down to about 6 inches deep but there are much better ones out there (like on the MXT).

Like stated above, coins on and off 95. After you use the Cortes a long time you'll get where you ignore the meter. With all machines sounds are what really matter.
