Was cleaning up some more of the corundum I collected and ran across these 2 with a purple hue to them. Thought I would share

Very nice! Is amethyst the same or a different stone?

totally different. amethyst is quartz where corundum is sapphire or ruby.

On Mohs chart, I think corundum is a bit harder.

Yes quartz has a hardness of 7 whereas corundum is a 9
