✅ SOLVED Costume jewelry broach?

Detected an early 1800's homestead here in northern illinois. Not sure, if I were to guess this is a costume jewelry broach or button. Thanks for any thoughts. DFW

I'd say a head skarfe or kerchief slide large like a boy scout kerchief slide

Kray is right, it’s an old horse bridle rosette. They come in many shapes and sizes. If you google bridle rosettes your find hundreds. Some are pretty rare.
