Counterfeit Capped bust half

I found this yesterday..It was 8 inches deep by an old celler hole...I Know it is counterfeit, But i was wondering if they are rare..I looked online but couldnt find much info...Im 90% sure it is the same metal nickles are made from...Thanks Brian W

LOTS of these out there....and folks who collect them, so it's not worthless. I sold a contemporary counterfeit bust half as such on eBay last year for around 40 bucks.

I am always interested in hearing about counterfeit coins....I could see rare coinage....but seems like a lot of work for the run of mint during the time. I read a story of someone counterfeiting nickles but the product had a greasy type of feel to them.

This is an absolutely FANTASTIC site Redbird. Do you have any other links for counterfeit US coin collectors? I have 2 large cents, an 1824 half, and an 1885 dollar. ALL counterfeits. Thanks for the link and your help. PM me. Hogge

Thats a rally cool find. Think I'd rather find a counterfeit than the real thing.
