I searched this land last year. No cave found on property. Could have been a dug out that has since been buried.

yep ! Many times these old timers Called any hole large enough for someone to crawl in or under
and cover the opening, a cave. whether the hole is a hastily dug pit, an open spot under a boulder,
or an actual cave you could crawl or walk in.
