I came back home for the weekend, and did a little coin roll hunting.
Found 4 40%s. Got a box of dimes, pulled 4 silver.
But anyway...one of the 40%s was a 1970S. My second one! I love pulling those. And the other cool coin was a colored Susan B Anthony.
Here are some picks. Happy hunting.

That one was actually from a gas station lol.
There is one gas station that I know saves coins for me so I try to stop in about once a week.

Homeboy strikes again! Congratulations!

Neat bit of history on the SBA. Note the date. 18 years after the last mintage. Do you know why?

[I know why. I'm just curious if others know why]

Colorerized coins definitely enhance their beauty. I have a whole collection of the colorized state quarter set. FYI, I only found 1 1970 half so far. They are almost nonexistant. Nice pics.

Dollar coins were going to be restored, but dies for the new design were not ready, so they made SBAs.

Partly correct. Mentioning why they would be minted, when the legislation for the Sac dollar had already been approved is the big question. Yes, the dies were not ready for Sac so SBA was dusted off. But a year early and after a hiatus of 18 years? Why couldn't it wait 1 more?

A very powerful lobby had pushed congress to mint the SBA in 1999. Apparently there was an insufficient supply of dollar coins for the Vending Machine Lobby. They are solely responsible for pushing the timetable up a year. Now think back to 1999... How many vending machines can you recall that used dollar coins?
