Great looking large cent He must be digging in neutral PH soil. Fertilized and acid soils can make for crusty coppers. That car is a real oldie, very nice....cheers

Actually he found 2 in that spot. The other one was crusty and flaked so I didn't bother to post it.

Looks like you have the slanting 5's variety of that year - really cool! and that car is giant - very neat finds. what was the year on the other large cent?
