couple of relics need help figuring out what they are

the ornate piece looks like it may be a hair clip but I found it in a civil war camp site with a bunch of other confederate civil war relics, and the oval looking buckle I think may have been a saddle rosette but not sure is it civil war? the oval piece has four feet on the back sorry for the picture quality.

Item 1 is a late 19th - early 20th C dress sash buckle.

I cant see any detail on item 2. It looks like a squished penny.
