I do feel good about heading eastbound on a Friday on this I-70 road. Yesterday late afternoon I came across Utah on Hwy 40 and went through Canyon Pintado on CO Hwy 139. I didn't stop to see any of the ancient archaeological sites along the road, left by the Fremont culture and later some by the Piute's, but did take a moment to sit at the top of Douglas pass and enjoy the steady cool breeze up there. Down below is the Grand Valley of the Colorado river and Grand Junction were I called it quits for the night. This morning it was I-70 all the way home and at 11:AM the place was already jamming up on the westbound side and a helicopter landed on the overpass at Bakersville. Got a hand it to that pilot on successfully dropping that down in a narrow canyon to help someone in need on a narrow bridge.
