I went through $1,000 in quarters and got 1 "W" in BU.

The halves went better. I got what you see, plus a clipped half, my first! DSCN0331.webpDSCN0334.webpDSCN0333.webp

Way to go, Smokey!

That's a lot of looking, opening a lot of paper wrappers but is it as much fun as metal detecting? Silver is great no matter the method of finding it!...............63bkpkr

I have gone through $18,000.00 in quarters since mid April. Really. I did get a bunch of 2019 Lowell National Park W's. Only three silver quarters in $18k!

Cool seated half! :occasion14:

Very nice score on the seated half!

Nice seated half. Congrats

I'd have been making a very big deal about scoring a SEATED LIBERTY half dollar CRHing !!

Prob part of the Great American Coin Hunt

I also think it's part of the great American coin hunt. I have found numerous rolls of uncirculated state quarters and America the beautiful quarters, some enameled quarters and the silvers. The one Franklin may have been one deliberately turned loose also. AND, the clipped half is highly unusual. They may be all the same situation. The seated is "low end".

Like that seated half! I've heard of Barber halves in the CRH forum but not seated, at least in the last year.

Now that the hot weather is here, thinking about returning to CRH halves. Watching a ball game on tv where it is 53 degrees in Boston while 88 degrees here in MD.

Meg, I think you and I visit the same banks!

I found a dump of re rolled quarters at a local b of a.

You hit that one out of the park with a seated half. A big congrats.

Thanks all. Wish I collected them. I'm downsizing everything right now. For no particular reason except I have too much stuff. I haven't detected much since about April 15. Too hot, too many ticks and snakes, and my knees are shot.

I don't use B of A due to their financing the biggest polluters.

The last time I rolled quarters was in 1964 or 65, I think...

I've been doing dimes - 1 silver in 10 boxes, that's 25,000 coins searched, but it was a nice Merc.

I like halves in theory because there is a chance of finding a classic commem. But the skunk streaks are discouraging.

Yes, the skunk streaks are non ending. Even asking for quarters, dimes or cents, these banks I go to have become jerks. That's a polite word.

Low end or high........A seated in the wild is GREAT!!!!! :icon_thumleft:
