CRH what all to look for??newbie needs help

Hi all, just getting started in my search for some silver coins and other rare coins. I just started an acct at a local citizens bank and got $10 in a roll of halves and a few loose ones. I'm looking for pre 1970's correct? As for dimes pre 1964 and same with quarters? Thanks for any advice or tips and HH.
